Final Results

The High Point University women's track & field team finished final preparations for the Indoor Championship with competition at the Gene Anderson Invitational. The team will head to Blacksburg, Va. next weekend for the Big South Championship.

Lynee Pina made a nice jump in the weight throw that bodes very well for her next weekend,” said head coach Mike Esposito. “We think Kelsey Fraser's time in the 3,000-meter should be enough to get her in to the fast heat next weekend as well and that was a major goal for the day. Conference is going to be a battle next weekend as the league has really gotten better as a whole but we are healthy and ready to go.”

Pina had a seventh-place showing in the weight throw. Pina recorded a throw of 46-6, a new career-high for the senior.

In the 3k, Fraser finished in third with a career-best time of 10:29.77 and Paine finished sixth with a time of 10:33.69. Kelsey Hinchliffe also competed in the run, finishing 18th with a time of 11:52.69.

Kayleigh Perry picked up a fifth-place finish in the one-mile run for HPU with a season-best time of 5:14.20. Kelsey Hunt crossed the line in eighth with a time of 5:23.12.

Kaitlin Whittington was High Point's top finisher in the 200-meter dash in her first time running the race, turning in a ninth-place finish with a time of 27.00. The race was preparation for her leg of the DMR next weekend. Emily Fisher finished 13th in the 200 with a time of 27.51 and Megan Lowery finished 15th with a time of 28.32.
