High Point University women's soccer head coach Marty Beall announced the team's spring schedule on Wednesday, which includes games against Elon, UNC Wilmington, East Carolina and UNC.
 
“This spring is vital in our development as a program,” head coach Marty Beall said. “There are specific things we are focusing on this spring and we've put together a schedule that will put our girls in situations where they can apply those things. Each team we are playing presents a different style of play which will challenge our players and allow us to grow as a program.”
 
The spring season kicks off on Feb. 21 when the Panthers host the Piedmont Triangle Football Club's '95 Black team, a local boys U16 club team, at 8 p.m.
 
HPU then returns to action March 1 when the Panthers will host Queens College from Charlotte, N.C. The game is set to kick-off at 8 p.m.
 
The Panthers will take part in the Southern Soccer Showcase on March 31 when they will face off against both UNC Wilmington and East Carolina. The Showcase will be held at the BB&T Soccer Complex in Advance, NC.
 
On Wednesday, April 4, High Point will head to Elon to face off against UNC at 8 p.m., and Elon at 9 p.m.
 
Following the games in Burlington, N.C., the Panthers will wrap up their spring schedule with a home contest Francis Marion on April 14 at 12 p.m. The game against the Patriots will be followed by HPU's second-annual alumni game at 2:30pm, where members of the current High Point squad will play returning alumni.
 
High Point returns seven starters from a team which finished fourth in the Big South last season with a 6-2-2 record. HPU returns four of its top five scorers from last season and four All-Conference selections in defender Janay Whittaker, midfielder Kelli Joline, midfielder Becca Hemby and defender Sammy Vercellino.
