Final Results
Neal Darmody and
Patrick Crawford finished first and second in the 5,000-meter in the final day of the Virginia Tech Invitational at the Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va.
Jacob Smith added a third place finish in the 3,000-meter.

Jacob Smith all ran very solid races today,” said head coach
Mike Esposito. “They competed and placed well which is exactly what we wanted from them today.”
Darmody won the 5k in 14:59.84, with Crawford finishing just behind in 15:25.15. Charlotte's Ross Roberson finished in third, nine seconds behind Crawford.
Smith finished third in the 3,000-meter, second among collegiate competitors, with a time of 8:36.73. He took the lead in the race with 300 meters remaining but was passed by East Carolina's Jordan Neal at the end.
Freshman
Evan Emery added a 10th place finish in the 200-meter with a time of 22.56.
Alex Fisher finished 14th in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles in 8.41.
HPU will be back in action on January 22 at the Appalachian Open in Boone, N.C.
