The High Point University volleyball team struggled offensively, falling to UC Riverside 3-0 (22-25, 17-25 22-25) in the second game of the ASU Sheraton Invitational. The Highlanders outhit HPU .202 to .052 in the match, dropping the Panthers to 2-7 on the season.
The Panthers struggled offensively, dropping the first two sets 25-22 and 25-17. The Panthers hit .071 in the first two frames, committing 12 attack errors.
Audie Gonzalez put down a kill in the first set to knot the score at 20-20 but UCR finished the set with a 5-2 run, capitalizing on two HPU attack errors to win the set 25-22.
The Highlanders controlled the second set, taking the lead at 12-11 and rolling to a 25-17 win. HPU had just nine kills and seven attack errors in the set.
The Panthers led 17-15 in the third set but UC Riverside again came on strong late in the set, outscoring HPU 9-5 down the stretch.

The Panthers will play the final game in the ASU Sheraton Invitational Saturday at 1 p.m. The Panthers will face Utah Valley University in the final match.
