The High Point University men's track & field team opened the 2010-11 indoor season Saturday at the Orange & Purple Winter Classic hosted by Clemson.

Eric Dudley. “We had transitioned well from practice to competition and people performed at a high level today.
Justin Conaway ran two strong races and both
TJ Brancaccio and
Jacob Mathews cleared opening height in the pole vault.”
Senior
Justin Conaway placed third in the 60-meter dash, finishing two races under seven seconds. He ran the prelims in 6.98 seconds, improving to 6.93 in the finals to take third place. Freshman
Evan Emery finished 12th in the event with a time of 7.09. Emery also competed in the 300-meter dash, placing 13th in 36.54.
Senior
TJ Brancaccio and junior
Jacob Mathews took third and fourth in the pole vault with heights of 14'7.19 and 14'1.29, respectively.
Sophomore
Jonathan Riley finished sixth in the mile in 4:34.48.
After a time of 8.43 in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles, junior
Alex Fisher improved his time to 8.39 in the finals for a 10th place finish.
In his collegiate debut, freshman
Max Coleman took fourth in the long jump (22'9.22).
The Panthers will compete next at the Virginia Tech Invitational on Jan. 14 and 15 in Blacksburg, Va.
