Box Score Annie Spicer had 16 kills and Colette Ramirez added 10 kills as Virginia Tech swept High Point, 3-0, in the opening match of the 2003 NC State Outback Steakhouse Invitational Friday afternoon in Raleigh.

Reigning Big South Freshman of the Week Lindsey Pickens had a team-high 14 kills for the Panthers (0-6).

The Hokies improved to 4-1 on the season after a 30-22, 30-20, 30-24 win.

Pickens and Kim Anderson each had 10 digs to lead HPU defensively, while Heather Butt provided 36 assists.

The Panthers have a pair of matches on Saturday at Reynolds Coliseum -- against host North Carolina State at 12:30 pm and TCU at 4:30 pm.
