Box Score Liberty got 17 kills from Erin McKeown and survived a test from High Point, 3-1, in volleyball action at the Millis Center Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Flames improved to 17-10 (8-1 in Big South play), while the Panthers fell to 6-23 (0-9).
Liberty pulled out of the gates first by winning the first game, 30-23. High Point came back in game two with an impressive rally after being down 26-23, thanks to Kamarsha Ryan, who finished with a match-high 21 kills. However, the Lady Flames bounced back by pulling away in games three and four to gain another win in Big South play.
Liberty got 17 kills from Tatiana Tkachuk and 14 kills from Becky Rudnick while Kristin Colson dished out 39 assists in the win.
The Panthers' Lindsey Pickens had 13 kills while April Shields contributed with 11 digs. Jaime Kutz and Jenelle Stouffer also had a good defensive day with 10 digs apiece. Heather Butt dished out a match-high 42 assists in the lost.
High Point hosts Radford tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 pm in the Millis Center. Admission is free.
