Matt Wood scored on a penalty kick in the 84th minute to give High Point a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Big South foe Radford Wednesday night in men's soccer action at Albion Millis Stadium.
The Panthers improve to 3-9-1 and 2-1-1 in Big South play, while the Highlanders fall to 6-6-1 (1-3-0).
Radford, which outshot the Panthers 16-12, opened an exciting first half with a goal in the 6th minute.
Andres Hernandez tallied his third goal of the year on a shot from the left side of the box past HPU keeper
Matt Long.
David Harpula was credited with the assist.
The Panthers didn't wait long to tie things up. From just outside the goal box,
Chris Archer launched a shot past Radford goalie
Dan Stevens for his second goal of the season.
Kirk Rudder had the assist.
The score remained knotted until the 51st minute, when the Highlanders regained the lead on a header by
Adrian Snell, who took a pass from
Cory Ogburn and put it into the open net for a 2-1 RU advantage.
Again, the Panthers responded for an equalizer. In the 76th minute, Wood rocketed a pass through the Radford defense to an open
Alex Thompson, who pushed a shot home for a 2-2 tie.

Andrew Essey for the Panthers' first goal on a penalty kick all season and a 3-2 win.
Long had six saves in net for the Panthers, while Stevens (three saves) and Essey (two saves) each spent one half in net for Radford.
High Point visits Longwood Saturday night (7:00 pm) before returning home for a Monday night game with Eastern Mennonite (7:00 pm) at Albion Millis Stadium.
