High Point's three-game unbeaten streak came to a screeching halt Wednesday night, as Winthrop blanked the Panthers 7-0 in Rock Hill.

With their first conference loss of the season, the Panthers fall to 2-4-1, 1-1-1 in Big South play.

The Eagles got two goals by Darrell Vydra (who finished with a hat trick) and Kevin Green to take a 3-0 lead, and scored four more goals in the second half.

Eric Lona made five saves in goal for HPU.

High Point will travel to Mercer on Saturday for a 7:00 pm matchup.
