High Point fell 3-0 to Appalachian State and 3-1 to Mercer Friday at the Millis Center on the first day of the 2002 HPU Invitational.

Tracyann Pryce led the Panthers with 25 kills in two matches.

Against Appalachian (30-24, 30-23, 30-27), Pryce had 10 kills and four digs. Senior Lindsey Steinhaus added seven kills and seven digs, while freshman Jenelle Stouffer added 10 digs in her first collegiate game. Senior Kimberly Wright led HPU with 24 assists.

In the Mercer match, Kamarsha Ryan's 16 kills led HPU. Pryce added 15, and Wright (12) and Casi Baker (10) also reached double-figures, while Jaime Kutz collected 39 assists.

The Panthers will play UNC Asheville and UNC Wilmington Saturday at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm, respectively.
