Box Score Charleston Southern overcame a 2-1 deficit and rallied to top visiting High Point, 3-2, Friday night in Big South Conference volleyball action.
Both teams now stand at 4-17 on the season.
Charleston Southern came out on fire, making short work of the error-prone Panthers (12 attack errors) in the first set. High Point cleaned up their play in set two and stepped out to a 19-12 lead. The Lady Bucs drew as close as four points, but could not claim the set, losing 30-23. Game three was nearly a repeat of the second. The teams were neck-and-neck at 23, but the Panthers pulled away with a 30-24 victory.
CSU rallied in game four from an eight-point deficit to draw even at 26-all and held the opponents to that 26 while going on to win. In the deciding match, the home team slipped behind 4-2, then went up 7-4. After being tied at 8, 9, 10, 11, and 13, Charleston Southern managed the final two points. Jamaica Hicks served an ace to add the exclamation point for CSU to win the game.
