Elon got two goals apiece from Tim Sullivan and Paul Bellacqua to race to a 5-1 victory over High Point Wednesday night in men's soccer action at Albion-Millis Stadium.

The Panthers fall to 3-9-1 (1-2-1 in the Big South), while Elon improves to 4-8-1 (1-2-1).

Sullivan's goals came in the 19th and 38th minutes off assists from Fabyan Saxe and Chad Heinicke, respectively. The Phoenix took a 2-0 advantage to intermission.

Bellacqua found the net in the 51st and 60th minutes of play, with the latter goal coming off an assist from goalie Kyle Ostendorf, who played a long ball to a streaking Bellacqua for the score.

Later in the half, HPU's Kirk Rudder got the Panthers on the board when he took a nearly-identical punt from goalie Chris Michener (who was credited with the assist) and scored in the 80th minute. Elon's Stuart Reid completed the scoring in the 83rd minute off an assist from Jamie Blecher.

Both teams welcome Birmingham-Southern to their home fields this weekend. BSC visits Elon at 4:00 pm on Friday, while HPU plays host to an all-Panther matchup Saturday night at 7:00 pm.
