Kevin Berger joined the High Point University volleyball program as a volunteer assistant coach in August 2018 and was promoted as a full-time assistant in December of 2018. In August of 2023, he was promoted as the Associate Head Coach.
Since joining the staff in 2018, Berger has worked under Head Coach Ryan Meek and helped guide the Panthers to an overall record of 105-39 and a Big South conference record of 69-5. Over the seven seasons, High Point has won four Big South regular season titles, three Big South Championships and competed at the NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament in 2018, 2021 (spring), 2023 and 2024. The purple and white made history during the spring 2021 Covid-19 season after defeating UCF in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to make it to the second round for the first time ever. The program under Coach Meek and Coach Berger has earned 63 Big South postseason All-Conference awards including six Big South Players of the Year, four Setters of the Year, two Defensive Players of the Year, three Freshman of the Year, and two Newcomers of the Year. Since joining the staff HPU has also crowned four Tournament MVPs.Â
Berger previously served as a volunteer assistant at Duquesne for the 2017 season and was an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball Association from 2016-17 with the 17s and 18s teams.
Berger graduated from Duquesne in 2018 with a degree in finance with a minor in sports marketing.
