Katie Leonard joined the High Point University Sports Medicine staff in August 2017 with sport coverage for volleyball and women’s lacrosse. In July 2019, Leonard continued her athletic training career at HPU with primary coverage for women’s lacrosse.
Over the course of her tenure with the Panthers, Leonard has helped develop lower extremity return-to-sport assessment protocol, while putting an emphasis on research and data collection/analysis focused on knee injuries within the female collegiate population.
Leonard is active within a multitude of High Point University’s educational programs. She serves as a preceptor for the Athletic Training Program, while also is invited as a guest lecture for numerous healthcare classes covering topics such as: Therapeutic Intervention: Cupping, Therapeutic Intervention: SASTM, Protective Equipment Fitting, and Taping/Bracing for an Athletic Population.
Originally from Southern California, Leonard now resides in Winston Salem, North Carolina with her husband Cameron and corgi Rocky.
