Christina Sheridan joined the High Point University women's lacrosse staff as an assistant coach in August 2015.
A former standout goalkeeper at Boston University, Sheridan joined the HPU staff after serving a year as an assistant coach at Coastal Carolina University.
“Christina is a fantastic addition to our program,” head coach Lyndsey Boswell said. “She brings an extensive knowledge of the game and the Big South Conference to the HPU staff. Our student-athletes will benefit greatly from her mentorship, her can-do attitude and her winning mentality.”
Sheridan's work with the Panthers in 2017 was easily seen as freshman HPU goalkeeper Jill Rall was named to the All-Big South Second Team and matched the school's single-season record for wins with 15. The defense guided by Sheridan aided the Panthers to a 16-4 record, which included Big South regular season and tournament titles and an NCAA First Round win over Towson, the first in school history.
In her first season with the Panthers, Sheridan helped guide HPU goalkeeper Molly Andrews to All-Big South second team accolades and four Big South weekly honors. With her defensive coaching prowess, Sheridan led the Panthers to a 13-6 record, including a 7-1 mark in Big South play. The seven conference wins tied an HPU program best mark.
Sheridan served as the defensive coordinator at Coastal Carolina during the 2015 season. She worked extensively with the team’s goalkeepers and defenders while managing all aspects of team travel, recruiting and film breakdown. She helped lead the Chanticleers to an 11-6 record and the program’s first Big South semifinal appearance. In 2015, CCU set new program records for saves, save percentage and goals against average.
Sheridan was a four-year letter winner at Boston University, where she graduated in 2014 with a degree in hospitality administration. A three-year starting goaltender, Sheridan was named team captain as a senior and participated in the IWLCA North-South All-Star Game. She earned America East All-Rookie Team honors in 2011 and was named to the America East All-Tournament Team.
A native of Ellicott City, Md., Sheridan will reside in Greensboro.
