Joseph Kammerer joined High Point University as the Director of Strength and Conditioning in September of 2024.
Prior to HPU, Kammerer spent three years at Coker University, where he established the strength and conditioning program. He worked directly with all 22 athletic programs since 2021.
During his time at Coker, Kammerer worked with the men’s soccer program when the Cobras won the South Atlantic Conference championship in 2021 and made the NCAA Tournament. He also worked with the acrobatics & tumbling program, while the team won a Conference Carolinas' championship in 2021.
Prior to Coker, Kammerer was a strength & conditioning coach for Gannon University, where he worked exclusively with the men’s basketball program from 2020-2021. Before Gannon, he was an assistant strength & conditioning coach at Mercyhurst University from 2019-2020. Prior to Mercyhurst, Kammerer was a volunteer assistant strength and conditioning coach for California State Fullerton University from 2017-2019.
Kammerer has been fortunate enough to work with numerous NCAA All-Americans, NCAA Regional Champions, Big West, PSAC and SAC All-Conference student-athletes.
Originally from Eugene, Oregon, Kammerer played basketball for the University of Idaho Vandals from 2009-2014, where he also received his Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting & Digital Media. He received his Master’s in Kinesiology from California State University Fullerton in 2019.
Kammerer is a member of the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Registered Strength & Conditioning Coach (RSCC), Applied Performance Coach (APC) and holds a United States of America Weightlifting Level 1 (USAWL1) certification.
Kammerer is married to his wife Megan and has two children, Stevie, 6, and Saylor, 2.
