After serving as an assistant coach at Anderson University in South Carolina for two seasons, Windley returned to High Point in 2017, acting as the program's Director of Operations after serving as the Panthers' volunteer assistant in 2014.
Windley graduated from High Point in 2008 with a degree in Human Relations. He played four seasons with the Panthers as both a midfielder and a forward, appearing in 77 games with 70 starts. Windley finished his collegiate career with 41 points on 10 goals and 11 assists. He was named to the Big South All-Conference team in 2006 and was a member of the All-Freshman team in 2004. Windley helped lead the Panthers to the Big South Tournament finals in 2006 and was named a team captain as a senior in 2007.
