John Trice returned to the High Point University men's soccer program as the associate head coach in January of 2016. He previously served as an assistant coach with the Panthers from 2008-10.

During his time at High Point, the men’s soccer program went 34-19-6 and claimed the 2010 Big South Regular Season Championship with a perfect 8-0-0 record. The Panthers’ 16-4-1 record in 2010 is the best single-season record in HPU’s Div. I history.

Trice left High Point in 2011 to become the head men’s soccer coach at Greensboro College, an NCAA Div. III school in Greensboro, N.C., where he took a team that went 3-16-0 in 2010 and proceeded to go 40-25-11 over the next four seasons. Trice was named the 2014 USA South Conference Coach of the Year in 2014 after going 12-7-0 and claiming the 2014 USA South Conference regular season title, the Pride’s first since 2002. In addition to being the head men’s soccer coach, Trice was also named the Greensboro College’s Director of Athletics in 2013. Trice returned to NCAA Div. I soccer in 2015 as an assistant coach at James Madison. The team finished with a 5-10-4 record in Trice’s one season but did go 3-3-2 record in CAA play, including a win over No. 17 Hofstra.

In addition to his work at the college level, Trice has coached for eight seasons in the North Carolina Olympic Development Program and he has worked with the North Carolina Soccer Fusion of the United States Development Academy since 2011.

Trice holds a USSF National "A" Coaching License. He graduated in 2003 from James Madison University where he was a four-year letter winner and a captain as a senior in 2003. The Dukes went to two NCAA tournaments during his time at JMU and won the 2001 CAA Championship.

Trice is married to former High Point University women's basketball player and assistant coach Katie Trice (née Ralls).
