Connor McKemey joined the High Point University men's lacrosse staff in August 2017. He served as the program's director of operations for one season before being promoted to volunteer assistant coach in August 2018.
McKemey is a 2017 graduate of High Point University and was a member of the men's lacrosse program for the past four seasons. The Fort Mill, S.C., native earned majored in Mass Communications while picking up a minor in Sports Marketing and Management.
"We are incredibly excited to welcome Connor back to the program as our Director of Operations," Torpey said. "Connor is one of the most amazing young men I have ever had the opportunity to coach in this profession. Connor is the consummate example of a leader and winner and his knowledge of the game at a young age is remarkable. Connor will be a great asset to the University and our program."
The former midfielder started his time at HPU as a student coach in charge of filming practice, preparing breakdowns for coaches to review with players while facilitating player-to-coach communications. During his junior season, McKemey joined the roster for his final two seasons while also helping in the coaching office.
During his time at High Point, McKemey was also involved as an analyst for Sports Link broadcasting women's lacrosse games for the Big South Network. He also has been a featured speaker at several events and featured twice with cover stories by Lacrosse Magazine.
McKemey is originally from Tega Cay, S.C. and now lives in Greensboro, N.C.
