Colin Nesdale was hired as the volunteer assistant coach for the High Point University men’s lacrosse program, head coach Jon Torpey announced in August of 2017.
Nesdale joined the staff after spending the last year as the volunteer assistant at the University of Michigan.
In his season at Michigan, Nesdale work primarily with goalies while preparing the scout teams. During the 2017 season, Nesdale coached Tom Heidt who was voted as the Wolverine’s MVP and set the program record for goals-against average. Meanwhile, UM secured eight wins during that spring – the most in program history.
Prior to his season at Michigan, Nesdale played four seasons at Quinnipiac before joining the staff as an undergraduate assistant for the 2015-16 academic year. During his time on the sidelines he mentored All-MAAC Second Team selection Jack Brust who finished fifth nationally in save percentage. Behind Brust’s performance, the Bobcats finished No. 18 in the national polls and made the NCAA Tournament with a MAAC title.
Nesdale earned a bachelor’s in Finance and a minor in Economics at Quinnipiac in May of 2016. While playing for the Bobcats, he was a part of the 2015 MAAC runner-up squad while starting several games in the crease during his senior season. The Connecticut native began his collegiate career at SUNY Binghamton where he spent one year.
Originally from Cheshire, Conn. Nesdale now resides in Greensboro, N.C.
