Orndorff was brought on to the baseball staff in August 2023 as the Director of Player Development. With a promotion in August 2025, Orndorff now serves as an Assistant Coach - as he specializes in hitting - and is the Recruiting Coordinator for the Panthers.

During his collegiate years, Orndorff played for Penn State (2017-2019) primarily as a catcher and an outfielder before transferring to Seton Hill. During the 2020-21 season, he was the center fielder for the Griffins as he studied Exercise Science. A 39-8 record during his time in Greensburg, PA., as he had a batting average of .353, with 18 stolen bases, 15 home runs, and 43 RBI’s. Orndorff was placed on the PSAC First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Atlantic Region Team, while his team was Atlantic Regional Champs and went on to make a World Series appearance. He finished his collegiate career playing centerfield at Liberty University in 2022. With the Flames, Orndorff hit 15 home runs, and led the team in runs (61), stolen bases (17), and hit-by-pitches (20).

His coaching career started in 2022 as a Graduate Assistant with Liberty baseball. With the Flames, Orndorff assisted the strength & conditioning coach while working with outfielders and baserunners. During that summer, Orndorff was the hitting/baserunning coach for the Macon Bacon, a part of the Coastal Plains Summer Collegiate League.

In his first year as the Director of Player Development at High Point, Orndorff worked with hitters, baserunners, and outfielders. HPU finished with a record setting 35-win season as they won its first Big South Championship in program history, while making an appearance in the NCAA Clemson Regional. The Panthers went on to beat Vanderbilt for their first regional win in school history to send the Commodores home. High Point led the conference in doubles (125), walks (333), on base percentage (.405), and fielding percentage (.975).

Orndorff was a part of broken records during the 2024 season as HPU won 35 games, its most in a season, hit 92 homers, and 224 extra base hits. Four Panthers earned All-Conference awards, and two were drafted in the MLB Draft. Peyton Carr was picked in the 10th round by the Twins, as Gus Hughes was drafted by the Yankees in the 18th round.
