As student-athletes, you are expected to wear two hats (“student” and “athlete”) and perform both roles at a very high-level. Being a student-athlete allows you some amazing experiences such as being part of a team, winning championships, exciting travel opportunities, performing in front of an audience, and so forth. At the same time, it may present challenges to living a balanced and healthy lifestyle such as juggling family stressors, academic pressures, jobs and social life, in addition to practice, training, travel, and competition. This lifestyle has the potential to become overwhelming and consuming without good self-care. It can also lead to anxiety, burnout and other conditions if not handled correctly.
Have you noticed changes in your athletic performance? Are you looking to get a competitive edge? Are there areas of your performance that you would like to improve? If so, then take a look at some of the Performance Enhancement topics below that you can address with Sports Counseling.
