SENIOR (2023-24)
  • Appeared in 14 games his senior season.
  • Totaled 30 points with a season-high nine points against St. Andrews (Nov. 6) and Mount Olive (Nov. 26).
  • Shot 38.5% from three-point range going 10-for-26.
  • Picked up eight rebounds including a season-high four against Morgan State (Nov. 29).
  • Added six assists and five steals on the year.
  • Graduated with his undergraduate degree in Business Administration in the summer of 2023 and his MBA in May of 2024.
JUNIOR (2022-23)
  • Started eight of the 31 games appeared in as a junior.
  • Totaled 526 minutes of playing time, averaging 17 minutes for the year.
  • Played a season-high 35 minutes against Campbell (1/25/23).
  • Finished the year 49-139 from the field and 45-131 from beyond the arc.
  • Started six games in a row in late January and averaged 29 minutes on the court, averaging 10 points per game.
  • Overall Childress averaged 5.0 points per game, scoring a career-high 20 points at Campbell (2/8/23).

  • Forced 11 steals while handing out 11 assists along the way. 
  • Posted 14 points (4-8 FG / 4-8 3FG), two rebounds and an assist in season-opener versus Shenandoah (Nov. 9). 
  • Closed out a clash with Michigan State (Dec. 29) with 12 points (4-5 FG / 4-5 3FG) and two rebounds in 17 minutes. 
  • Notched his lone start of the season at USC Upstate (Jan. 12), logging 40 minutes where he hit 5-of-9 from the floor, all from 3-point range, to scored 15 points. 
  • Emerged with six points (2-4 FG / 2-2 FT) against Campbell (Jan. 29). 
  • Netted six points in consecutive contests against N.C. A&T (Feb. 23) and Hampton (Feb. 26), hitting two field goals and two 3-pointers against both the Aggies and Pirates. 
FRESHMAN (2020-21)
  • Played in 20 games, making three starts along the way, logging 216 minutes. 
  • Finished the season hitting 20-of-45 (44.4%) from the floor, 18-of-41 from 3-point range. 
  • Emerged with 59 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists and five steals. 
  • Had a trio of three-point outings against Elon (Nov. 28), North Florida (Dec. 5) and UNC Asheville (Dec. 12), making his first start of his collegiate career against the Ospreys on December 5th. 
  • Reached double figures (12 points) after hitting 4-of-6 from the floor and 4-of-5 from beyond the arc while handing out two assists at William & Mary (Dec. 19). 
  • Logged a single-game season-high 29 minutes, closing with a single-game season-high in points (17) by virtue of hitting 6-of-9 from the floor and 5-of-7 from beyond the arc against USC Upstate (Dec. 31). 
  • Emerged with nine points (3-6 FG / 3-6 3FG) and an assist versus Winthrop (Feb. 18). 
PREP
  • Played at North Stanly then attended Hargave MIlitary academy
  • While at North Stanly, set the county scoring record
  • Scored 2175 points in high school.
  • 2x Player of the Year in basketball (2018 & 2019).
  • Named to the All-Conference team all four years for basketball.
  • Played AAU for Team Felton
  • Was selected to as a North Carolina All-Star and an East/West All star.
  • Also ran cross country and played soccer in high school.
  • Was a 2x cross country runner of the year (2017 & 2018).
  • Named to the all-conference team in soccer (2019).
  • Was a member of the National Honor Society.
  • Graduated Top 10 in his class.

PERSONAL

  • Son of Paul and Brooke Childress
  • Has two older brothers – Gregory and PT – and a younger sister –Alex
  • Majoring in Business admin
  • Grandfather coached at Pfeiffer College for 20 years
  • His father played basketball at ECU/Pfeiffer while his uncle Brad played at Campbell, and his brother Gregory at Catawba.
  • His mother cheered at ECU.
