CHARLOTTE, N.C. – High Point University senior Avery Crowell of the men's cross country team was named Big South Runner of the Week Wednesday afternoon by the conference. It is Crowell's first weekly award of the 2026 season. 

Crowell led the Panthers at NC State Adidas XC Challenge with a time of 18:03.4 in the 6K and finished among the top runners in the field; his effort helped High Point finish fourth as a team (111 points). Crowell had a good race as he got up front and led the Panthers through the race. High Point was one point behind Liberty in the team standings. 

Up Next: Crowell and the Panthers will be back in action on Friday, October 2 at the Richmond Invitational hosted by the University of Richmond.
