HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point University's
Nick Sarantakos (men's soccer) and
Sabba Haghgoo (women's soccer) have been named the HPU Student-Athletes of the Month for August, presented by the Triad Talk Network.
In the first month of 2026-27, Sarantakos and Haghgoo helped their teams to key victories with big-time individual performances.
Sarantakos scored his first collegiate goals on two shots and registered a pair of assists off the bench in two straight wins. The first goal and assist came against Long Island University in the season-opening 5-2 victory, while his second three-point outing came in a 3-2 win at No. 11 Virginia. Sarantakos' performance warranted him Big South Freshman of the Week in back-to-back weeks.
Haghgoo scored four goals in six starts as she netted her first collegiate hat trick in a 4-0 victory over Marshall to be named the Big South Offensive Player of the Week. She also scored her first-career penalty kick at Elon.
