KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The High Point University men's soccer team has been recognized as a 2025-26 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award honoree, which was announced by the coaches association Friday.

It's the 16th time the Panthers have earned this award for exemplary performance in the classroom, while it's the seventh consecutive year under HPU Head Coach Zach Haines. The Panthers have had a 3.0 or higher in each of Haines' seven seasons at the helm with the 2025 squad posting a 3.51 GPA.

"We recruit student-athletes who understand their responsibility in the classroom at HPU," Haines said. "We hold them to high standards. Then they achieve these sort of outcomes, and are proud to do so. Thank you to April Wines for her leadership and tireless work in the academic space. We are lucky to have her working with all of the student-athletes at HPU."

A total of 327 men's soccer teams posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year. Of that total, 176 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized as HPU was one of those.

HPU has earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award in 2006, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
