HPU Men's Golf Kicks Off Fall Season at Augusta Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The High Point University men's golf fall season is here, and the Panthers are kicking off their season opener down in Augusta, Georgia at the Augusta Jaguar Fall Invitational.

"I'm excited for the season to start!," Head Coach Logan Davis exclaimed. "Leading into the fall season, the team all had solid summers. Coming into the summer we jumped straight into qualifying and we had overall one of the best qualifiers we've had as a team. Keeping the momentum going from the summer is going to be a big factor of our success this fall. We are starting a little earlier than normal this week in Augusta, but I think that'll be an advantage for us getting early competition in. We have a really solid lineup for events this fall, a couple of new ones and a couple of familiar ones. Hosting at the end of this fall with the Qubein Cup will be a great way to cap off the fall season at home with a solid field at Sedgefield CC. We are looking forward to a very solid season for the Panther Men's Golf Program!"

The tournament will take place on August 31 and September 1 at the Forest Hills Golf Club, hosted by Augusta University. The field consists of 10 teams including, Belmont University, Francis Marion University, Paine College, Alabama State University, University of West Georgia, High Point and Augusta University.

The Panthers returned seven golfers from the 2025-26 roster and brought in three new additions, including two transfers and one freshman. Jace Duckworth, from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, joined HPU from Meridian Community College and will begin his third year of college. Tommy Evans another third-year student-athlete comes to High Point from Beaconsfield, England after recently playing at Reedley College. The Panthers' third addition, Andrew Turner, a true first-year freshman from Tuscaloosa, Alabama attended American Christian Academy.

Head Coach Logan Davis completed his first full season at the helm in 2025-26. Under his guidance, the Panthers won the Red Flash Invitational as Tully Super was named the individual medalist after shooting 7-under par. In the spring at the Big South Championships, HPU placed third overall in stroke play to advance to match play. This past summer the Panthers had two student-athletes, Super and James Hassell, qualify and compete at the 126th U.S. Amateur Championship for the first time in their careers.
