CHARLOTTE, N.C. — High Point University's Nick Sarantakos has been voted the Big South Conference Men's Soccer Freshman of the Week in the league's first weekly awards' announcement, which was released on Monday afternoon.

In his collegiate debut, Sarantakos scored his first points as he netted a goal and dished out an assist in the season-opening, 5-2, victory over LIU on Thursday night. The freshman forward scored the Panthers' fifth and final goal in the 73rd minute, netting the score on his only shot on goal, while his assist was a heel-flick to help Alfred Baafi find Prosper Adagani on a lead-taking score before halftime.

The Virginia native heads back to his home state in a top-20 clash between the University of Virginia and High Point University on Monday at 6 p.m.
