Martin Named Riley Wallace Award Finalist

BOSTON, Mass. - CollegeInsider.com has announced the finalists for the 2025-26 Riley Wallace award. The award is presented annually to the most impactful transfer in division I college basketball. High Point University's Rob Martin of the men's basketball team has been named a finalist along with 29 other Division I College Basketball players.

The award is named in honor of the longtime Hawaii coach. During his coaching career at Hawaii, Riley Wallace welcomed many transfers into the program and became the winningest coach in program history. Wallace guided Hawaii to nine postseason appearances, including a school-record streak of four straight from 2001-04.

As the Panthers' starting point guard, Martin has appeared in 33 games after transferring from SEMO this past summer. He finished second on the team in scoring averaging 15.3 points per game to go along with 3.67 assists per game. He posted a 2.4 assist/turnover ratio which ranked second in the Big South. After the Big South regular-season, Martin was named the Big South Newcomer of the Year and to the All-Conference team. Following the Big South Championship, Martin was named to the All-Tournament team after averaging 19.3 points and 5.0 assists to guide HPU to its second NCAA Tournament berth in program history.

The recipient of the annual award is determined by a 10-member voting committee, which consists of current and former head coaches, as well as two senior staff members of collegeinsider.com.

The 2026 award will be announced in Indianapolis, IN, site of the men's Division I Basketball Championship.

The Panthers received an automatic bid in the 2026 NCAA tournament, and will await the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday, March 15, at 6 p.m. ET on CBS for their fate.
