WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its first men's lacrosse player of the week awards on Monday afternoon, naming High Point University's
Justin Wixted as the Offensive Player of the Week.
Wixted put on a show in HPU's season-opener against VMI Saturday, contributing a career-high nine points. As an attacker, he scored his first hat trick of the season and third of his career with three goals and directed the offense dishing out a career-high six assists. His nine total points was two points shy of the single-game program record. He finished the game with a .750 shot percentage and also picked up a caused turnover. This was Wixted's second time being named Offensive Player of the Week in his career.
High Point travels to No. 6 University of North Carolina on Friday, February 13 for a non-conference matchup at 5:00 p.m. in Chapel Hill.
