GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the second time in program history, the High Point University men's golf team hosted the Qubein Cup at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Panthers welcomed 10 teams to the Triad on Monday and Tuesday to play three rounds on the same course as the PGA Tour Wyndham Championships. HPU finished eighth overall in the team standings while five players competed as individuals.
"It was great to host the Qubein Cup again at the historic course at Sedgefield Country Club," Head Coach
Logan Davis stated. "It is one of the toughest courses we will see this season and I'm proud of the team for battling through three rounds. We have learned a lot during our fall season that we hope to carry over to a challenging spring season."

Among the team, only Smith and Jain played in the 2024-25 Qubein Cup, so for many players on the team, this was their first experience competing at a home tournament on a professional level course.
On the first day, Super jumped out strong in the opening round, scoring a 1-under-par 69 after sinking five birdies. He remained steady through the next two rounds and finished in 14th place with a 6-over-par 216.
As a team, after seeing the course in round one, High Point posted solid scores in round two and shot a 5-over-par for the best team score of that round among all 11 teams. Turner, in his second tournament this season, shot a 1-under-par 69 after scoring four birdies. Evans and Smith also each scored an even-par in the second round.
Shallat rounded out the two days with a strong finish in round three, scoring an even-par after landing an eagle on hole 15 (par 5).
Jain appeared in his first tournament this season for the Panthers and registered a birdie in round one and round two.
Sedgefield is a course that is long and narrow, making it a challenging course to play even for the professionals. High Point was able to gain experience playing on a course with a higher level of difficulty which will help prepare the team moving into the spring season and Big South Conference play.
UP NEXT: High Point will prepare for the spring season with the first tournament on February 7 in Cancun, Mexico for the Compadres Collegiate.
