HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's soccer team fell to UNC Wilmington, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon.

The Seahawks jumped to a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute of the today's match with a goal scored by Kayla Adams. HPU had a late run by
Morgan Wilcox as she was racing her defender downfield. Wilcox was able to get a shot off as she was being tripped to the ground to tally HPU's first shot of the match.
Wilmington went into the half with a one goal lead over the Panthers.
Early in the second half, UNCW tallied its second goal of the match scored by Hailey Longwell, assisted by Ayanna Parker in the 57th minute. The Seahawks would go up three goals in the 67th minute with a goal scored by Reese Bodas.
Leah Malone was subbed in for her first time on the pitch since suffering a season ending injury last season in the season opener.
"This is the first game she was eligible for minutes," Head Coach
Aaron McGuiness said. "I thought I'd be a good idea to get her out there and get her back in the swing of things. She came into the game at a difficult time, but she worked hard."
UNC Wilmington held off HPU for a 3-0 win at Vert Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
