CHARLOTTE, NC — High Point University women's cross country star Brianna Malone has opened up her 2025 junior campaign on a dominant note. She has been named the Big South Women's Runner of the Week for the first time this season. She placed 15th overall at the Adidas XC Challenge in Cary, N.C., on Friday.

Malone finished with a time of 17:06.5 in the 5k. Her 2k split clocked in at 6:33.7, which ranked her 11th, and a 3.2k split of 10:53.0 (10th). This is a 34-second overall difference from her last 5K run on the same course (17:40.2) which took place on Sept. 20th, 2024. She also improved her placement by 12 spots on the leader boards.

UP NEXT: Malone runs next up north in the Paul Short run in Bethlehem, P.A. The meet with take place on Friday, October 3rd and hosted by Lehigh University.
