HIGH POINT, N.C. — The annual High Point University men's soccer move-in game was a success as 2,213 fans filled Vert Stadium Saturday night to cheer on the Panthers.
The largest HPU freshman class to date, returning students, and the community showed up and showed out to witness High Point soar to a 2-1 win over Liberty University to wrap up the preseason unblemished.
Head Coach Zach Haines: "We are extremely grateful for this game every single year to have the opportunity to play in front of the freshman class and so many people in the community and the university for the move-in game. It's an honor and something we look forward to every year. This is one of the best we've ever had — in terms of the atmosphere. It was an incredible job by all the staff and everybody who put their time and energy into it. I can say that we were really, really pleased with the whole night on the field, off the field, and we are ready for more. Hopefully everybody will show out against Georgetown on Thursday for our season opener — just like tonight."
