HIGH POINT, N.C. — A program-record best five High Point University women's lacrosse student-athletes were named to the 2025 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large team, selected by College Sports Communicators, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.
Of the honorees, who have impacted the program on and off the field, are
Tatum Mehring,
Esprit Cha,
Mandy Brockamp,
Reese Dowgiallo, and
Sydney Martin. It is the first CSC All-District accolade for each.
Mehring, the Panthers' reigning back-to-back Big South Conference Scholar-Athlete honoree, played and started in all 18 games. The redshirt junior defender scooped up a career-high 21 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers. Mehring is a biology major.
Alike Mehring, the captain duo of Cha and Brockamp started and competed in every game (18). Cha scored 58 goals and added 10 assists for 68 points. The senior attacker is a biology major and graduated in December as she is now perusing her master's degree.
Brockamp, who is majoring in health and physical education, netted 18 goals and had four assists for 22 points. The senior midfielder also picked up 15 ground balls, alongside Cha, and won 29 draw controls.
Dowgiallo appeared in 17 games with 14 starts and had a team-high 38 assists. The junior attacker paired a career-high assist total with a career-best 34 goals for a team-tying best 72 points. Dowgiallo is a sales major.
Martin, a finance major, had 17 starts in 18 appearances. The junior defender scooped up a career-high 30 ground balls and added 14 caused turnovers.
To earn recognition, the student-athlete must be a sophomore athletically and academically, maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, and adhere to certain criteria per nominating sport (lacrosse: competed in at least 90 percent or start at least 66 percent of games played).
