High Point, N.C. — Allie Connally and Shannon Smith each scored their 100th career point as the High Point University women's lacrosse team won its eighth straight, 21-2, against the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs.

The Panthers held the Runnin' Bulldogs scoreless in the second half en route to the team's fifth scoreless quarter this season. High Point allowed its fewest goals in a game since 2022 when the Panthers defeated Winthrop 23-2 on April 6.

Connally led the way with seven points as Reese Dowgiallo scored a team-high four goals. Tatum Goettelmann finished with three goals and two assists while Mandy Brockamp also added another three goals for her first hat trick this season.

Head Coach Lyndsey Boswell: "I'm excited to always get a win at home with these girls. I felt like it was a complete win — a whole team effort. I am really proud to be undefeated in conference play right now. I think accolades are awesome; they are definitely a tribute to Shannon and Allie's hard work and their efforts and all they have done through the years for our program. So, it's great when they can get those shout outs and those milestones."

Connally opened up the scoring department for the Panthers with her 29th goal of the season. The Panthers took a 2-0 lead as Dowgiallo went low off of a pass from Lily Trout. Bella Germani also went low for the Panthers' third goal of the game. Connally assisted on Germani's goal.

Brockamp scored off of another assist from Connally – with 5:24 remaining in the first quarter – to give the Panthers a 4-0 lead.

After the Runnin' Bulldogs scored their first goal of the game, Jaidyn Donley scored on back-to-back free-position shots to give the Panthers a 6-1 lead.

Connally totaled her 100th career point on an assist to Dowgiallo just over five minutes into the second quarter. Dowgiallo then scored on a free-position shot to secure the hat trick.

"I think it makes it special that we scored it together. I am just proud of how we played together today and we all kind of guide each other to those points," Connally said.

Kate Prentice scored at the 8:53 mark in the second quarter as the Panthers went up 9-1. Connally assisted on her fourth goal of the game. The second Panther of the day scored her 100th career point as Smith found the back of the net on a free-position shot.

"A big emphasis before this game was, 'serving each other and to be hungry,' and I think that is exactly what our whole team came out here and did. We definitely were hungry, and I think we also definitely served each other," Smith said.

Trout scored on a pass from Dowgiallo from the x-position as the Panthers went up 11-1. Dowgiallo then capitalized on a Gardner-Webb failed clear to score her fourth of the game. The Runnin' Bulldogs scored before time expired in the first half as the Panthers went into halftime up 12-2.

Brockamp opened up the Panthers' scoring in the second half with back-to-back goals. Smith assisted with the first goal and Dowgiallo on the second. Goettelmann scored back-to-back goals of the game off of Connally's fifth and sixth assists to extend the lead to 14.

Senior captain Esprit Cha got her name into the scoring department from a Goettelmann assist with 2:56 remaining in the third quarter.

The Panthers scored again on a buzzer-beater as Donley intercepted a passed then found Goettelmann to bring the score to 18-2 heading into the final quarter.

Gracie Vickery netted her second goal of the season with 13:35 remaining. Eva Thorn then scored her first-career goal on a free-position shot to bring the Panthers' total to 20. Kierstin Hillis scored her first goal of the season and the final of the game off of a Goettelmann assist as the Panthers won 21-2.

Reigning Big South Defensive Player of the Week, Julia Dustin, led the team in ground balls with three with two caused turnovers. Haley Urban also caused another three turnovers.

In total, the Panthers outshot the Runnin' Bulldogs 43-12 and caused another 24 turnovers, with 13 different scorers.
