The Kannapolis native,
Cord Butler got the start against the Deamon Deacons as he had a good few innings striking out five batters. Surrendering just two hits, the Deacons scored three runs on Butler before HPU went to the bullpen.
Howell Polk,
Adam Grintz,
Mac Kimel,
Bryan Garrett, and
Charlie Jones all saw time on the hill tonight.
Wake Forest scored its first run in the bottom of the third off a few errors by the Panthers infield. That inning woke up the Deamon Deacons bats as they continued to put up crooked numbers all game.
A five run sixth inning propelled their lead to 11 before adding two more runs in the seventh.
Three Panthers loaded the bases in the top of the eighth off two walks and a hit-by-pitch before
Frank Kelly drove in the lone High Point run on a single through the right side.
High Point fell to Wake Forest, 13-1, on Tuesday night in Kannapolis.
Up Next: High Point will host USC Upstate for a weekend series starting on Friday April 4 at 6:00 p.m.
