Three Panthers Set to Compete at NCAA Indoor Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The NCAA Track & Field committee announced the start lists for the 2024-25 Indoor Track & Field Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Qualifying in their respective events, three High Point University Track & Field athletes will compete on March 14 & 15. This will be the first time the indoor championships have been held in Virginia Beach, with the men's and women's events going simultaneously.

"Making the NCAA Indoor Championships is arguably more difficult than making the Olympics," Head Coach Mike Esposito state." To have three individuals qualify is a testament to the incredible work ethic of Sydney, Cole, and Ricardo. In addition, Coach Holmes and Coach Houston continue to demonstrate that they are among the best coaches in the country. As the director of the program, I get to sit back and watch them teach at such a high level. As for the athletes themselves… all I can say is wow! Their daily pursuit of competitive excellence is a joy to watch. They will compete with the intent of being First Team All-Americans as a minimum. We as a staff can't wait to see them demonstrate their true personalities on the biggest stage."

Sydney Horn qualified in the women's pole vault after clearing a program and Big South record 4.57m at the Virginia Tech Challenge on February 21. This will be Horn's fifth season competing at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a chance to earn her fifth First Team All-American title. Horn is currently rank No. 7 in the country after winning the Big South title last weekend.
