Right from the start the Golden Gophers attacked Friday starter,
Wade Walton and managed to work home some early runs. They scored nine runs on nine hits in 2.1 innings, before
Howell Polk relieved Walton. Polk completed 4.2 innings out of the bullpen slowing down Minnesota, holding them to just two runs.
Mac Kimel made an appearance to pitch the eighth as the Golden Gophers tacked on one more run on one hit to extend their lead.Â
Miggy Echazarreta recorded two hits in tonight contest, one being an RBI double scoring the only run of the night,
Konni Durschlag. Durschlag and
Landen Johnson were the two others to record base hits.
