Charlotte, N.C. – On Monday afternoon, the Big South Conference announced the men's basketball Players of the Week awards for the week of February 10-17. High Point's Josh Ibukunoluwa earned his first Freshman of the Week award and HPU's second award this season.
 
Ibukunoluwa stepped up when his name was called in both games last week. He recorded a career-high on Thursday night in High Point's win over Longwood University scoring 10 points and then set a new career-high on Saturday in the win over Winthrop with 13 points.
 
In the game against Longwood, he shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the line while contributing five rebounds, an assist, a block and two steals. In the game at Winthrop, he led the game with eight rebounds, picking up four on offense and four on defense. He went 5-for-8 from the field, knocking down his first three of the season and went 2-for-2 from the line against the Eagles.
 
High Point welcomes Charleston Southern University to campus on Wednesday, February 19 for a matchup at 7:00 p.m. inside the Qubein Center.
