JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — The High Point University men's golf team rained supreme at the Red Flash Invitational, securing the win on Tuesday afternoon. This is the first tournament win for HPU Head Coach Logan Davis. Sophomore Tully Super (-7) had an incredible three rounds as he was crowned the medalist for his first collegiate win at the Sunnehanna Country Club.
The Panthers (-9) were the most dominant team, shooting 9-under to beat the likes of Howard (+1) and Mount St. Mary's (+2) amongst other teams. After round one, New Haven led by one; however, the Panthers remained dominant the rest of the way.
Head Coach Logan Davis: "Couldn't be more proud of this team right now! A team win plus an individual win is very hard to come by and this team is very deserving of it. I'm excited for Tully, he has been playing really solid golf and for him to see it come together to bring home the individual title is amazing. Each player stepped up to the challenge this week and everyone contributed. I'm proud of this team for putting in the work and seeing results. So far this fall we have seen lots of individual success in each players game. Words can't describe how happy I am for them to see team success! I believe this is a huge stepping stone for these guys, and what our future for the men's golf program will look like at High Point University. I can't wait to see what is to come for this team!"
