DAVIDSON, N.C. – Daniel Lugo netted in his 10th goal of the season as the High Point University men's soccer team played to a draw at Davidson College on Tuesday night.

The Panthers saw a few opportunities on net in the first 30 minutes of action.
Prosper Adagani and Lugo both had great looks at goal, but none to add onto the scoreboard quite yet.
It was Lugo in the 43rd minute that saw another look at goal, and this time converted the opportunity after coming up empty on his first score attempt.
Beau Yantz placed a tremendous through ball to
Alfred Baafi on the near side endline. Baafi read the defense before crossing the ball right outside the penalty box, finding the perfectly placed head of Lugo. The ball left Lugo's head and went straight to the left side of net for the tremendous finish, and first score of the game.
Lugo has now scored in back-to-back games for the second time this season, and adds onto his Big South Conference lead in goals with 10. The goal also puts Lugo into the top 10 in the NCAA Division I in total goals as he moves into tied for ninth.
HPU closed out the first half with the 1-0 lead. The Panthers outshot the Wildcats, six to three, shots on goal, three to one, and corner kicks, one to zero.
The Panthers nearly added onto their lead multiple times in the second half, starting in the 52nd minute.
Zakaria Daaou crossed the ball in the goal box right to
Brendan Krueger's left foot as the the ball just missed the goal as it hit the left post. Then in the 73rd minute,
Lukas Kamrath fired a ball downfield to Lugo who tapped the ball up the field to
Celestin Blondel. Blondel took a few dribbles, and found a running
Noah Behrmann who got one foot on the ball before the Davidson goalkeeper's foot deflected the ball away for the save.
With the clock ticking down, Davidson found the equalizing goal with 12 seconds remaining to end the game in a draw, 1-1.
High Point is now 4-3-4 overall against Davidson in its series history with the last two matches now resulting in draws.
The Panthers finished the 90 minutes of action outshooting the Wildcats on total shots, 11 to nine, and shots on goal, five to four.
Josh Caron recorded three saves behind net including two in the second half.
