HIGH POINT, N.C. — Three High Point University men's soccer players have been named to the Midseason TopDrawerSoccer Division I Men's Soccer National Top 100 list, which was announced on Thursday afternoon.
The trio includes
Daniel Lugo (#31),
Jefferson Amaya (#74), and
Lukas Kamrath (#93) as these Panthers are ranked among the best of the best top 100 players in the country. It's the most High Point players named to the
midseason list since 2022 when the Panthers had four.
Lugo, who was named to the
Midseason MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, enters the TDS
Midseason rankings at No. 31 after a stellar beginning to his career in Purple & White. He has started in all 12 games while scoring eight goals — with four being game-winning scores — and assisting on three for a team and conference-leading 19 points. The redshirt sophomore forward netted his first collegiate goals in the season opener against No. 25 Georgetown and has scored in seven total games en route to High Point's best start since 2012 at 8-1-3.
Amaya, a team captain, remains in the TDS
Midseason rankings at No. 74 after being ranked No. 26 to begin the season. The senior defensive midfielder has been an anchor for the Panthers, starting in all 12 games while scoring two goals — both being penalty kicks and one a game-winning PK — while assisting two against top-ranked Marshall. He has helped contribute to five shutout victories.
Kamrath comes into the TDS
Midseason rankings at No. 93 after starting in every game played (12) and logging a full 90 minutes in all but one. The redshirt sophomore defender has five clean sheets to show for, while scoring against 10th-ranked Marshall and having his header save make it to No. 9 on the SC Top-10 plays on SportsCenter.
The 11th-ranked Panthers play next at Radford on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m.
