HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The High Point University men's soccer team fell to No. 7 Marshall, 2-0, on a windy and stormy Friday night.

High Point and Marshall went head-to-head for the second year in a row at Hoops Family Field. The Herd took control of the ball early in the first half and was quickly awarded a penalty kick off a foul in the box by
Fynn Geigle in the 7th minute. The Herd scored the PK to put themselves up 1-0.
Josh Gomina fired off the first shot for HPU in the 25th minute just a few minutes after
Jefferson Amaya was handed a red card to put the Herd up a man. In the 39th minute, Marshall was handed a red card as now both teams were an even 10 v 10.
HPU was able to hold off the Herd after the PK to just two shots before the half ended.
As the second half started, down came the rain and heavy winds. Marshall extended its lead in the 82nd minute to take a 2-0 lead with little time remaining on the clock.
In a game that saw 10 cards, the Panthers and the Herd were even with six shots a piece as
Josh Caron was able to get his hands on a ball for his one save of the night.
Ross Johnstone recorded the only shot on goal for HPU.

Lukas Kamrath were all able to get their foot on a shot in tonight's match.
