PROVO, Utah – High Point volleyball kicks off its regular season with a trip out west for the doTERRA Classic hosted by Brigham Young University. HPU will take on three teams over two days with matchups against Fairfield University, Southeastern Louisiana and BYU.
 
The Panthers begin play on Friday, August 30 with a doubleheader against Fairfield at 12:30 pm ET and Southeastern Louisiana at 6:30 pm ET. High Point closes out the weekend at BYU with the teams last game at 9:00 pm on Saturday, August 31 against the Cougars.
 
Following the completion of the DoTerra Classic, the Panthers fly south for a non-conference matchup at Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday, September 3 at 7:00pm ET.
 
High Point vs. Fairfield – The Matchup
 
High Point played Fairfield in back-to-back seasons in 2021 and 2022 and are 1-1 with the Stags. Fairfield finished the 2023 season 22-7 and 16-2 in the MAAC to claim the programs fifth straight MAAC regular season championship and the programs 13^th tournament title. The Stags went on to play No. 12 Purdue in the first round of the NCAA Volleyball Championships and fell 3-0.
 
High Point vs. Southeastern Louisiana – The Matchup
 
This will be the Panthers first meeting with Southeastern Louisiana in program history. The Lions finished the 2023 season with an overall record of 25-8 and a conference record of 17-1 in the Southland Conference with the teams only loss to Northwestern State University. Southeastern Louisiana won the SLC regular season and second straight tournament titles to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Lions took on No. 6 Oregon in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and fell 3-0 to the Ducks.
 
High Point vs. BYU – The Matchup
 
This will be the second meeting with BYU since 2021 when the Panthers took on the Cougars at the Panther Challenge hosted by the University of Pittsburgh, falling 3-0 after three close sets (17-25, 19-25, 19-25). BYU finished the 2023 season with a 25-7 record and a 13-5 conference record in the Big 12. The Cougars advanced to the NCAA Tournament and swept Weber State in the first round before falling 3-0 to No. 5 seed Arizona State in the second round.
 
High Point vs. Stephen F. Austin – The Matchup
 
The Panthers and the Ladyjacks will meet for the first time on Tuesday, September 3 in Nacogdoches, Texas. Stephen F. Austin will play in the Sam Houston Tournament in Huntsville, Texas before hosting High Point at home. A season ago, the Ladyjacks finished with an overall record of 29-5 with a conference record of 16-0 in the Western Athletic Conference. SFA was crowned the WAC regular season champions but fell to Grand Canyon University in the WAC Tournament. The Ladyjacks earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history and took on No. 9 Arkansas in the first round.
