HIGH POINT, N.C. - Nakyah Terrell was named this week's Big South Player of the Week, this is her first as a Panther. She won three Freshman Player of the Week awards during the 2021-22 season. Terrell helped HPU win its fourth and fifth win in a row as they took down UNC Asheville and Gardner-Webb last week. 

Terrell combined for 32 points during the two games last week. In the win against UNC Asheville, she had 14 points, six assists, and went 5-6 from the free throw line. That carried over to the Gardner-Webb game where she put up 18 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. 

Terrell currently leads the team in rebounds as she averages 4.1 boards per game. She is two rebounds shy of 100 for the season. She also leads the team in assists, and steals, averaging three assists per game and 1.1 steals per game. 

HPU will travel to Spartanburg, S.C. to go up against USC Upstate on Wednesday, Feb. 14. Tip is set for 7 p.m. The winner will claim sole possession of first place in the Big South with four games remaining.
