Eckstein Announces Two Recruits to 2024-25 Roster

HIGH POINT, N.C. — Men's Golf Head Coach Todd Eckstein has added two incoming freshmen to High Point University's roster for the 2024-25 season.

Coach Eckstein announced Shlok Jain from Cary, North Carolina, will be joining the squad next season. Jain graduated from Green Hope High School in the class of 2023 and decided to take a gap year before committing to a collegiate golf team. During his time in high school, Jain won the qualifying tournament for the 2023 US Junior Championship, was the runner-up at 2023 CGA HV3 Championship, and shot 15-under and finished 4th at AJGA Junior at East Potomac. Heading into this recruitment season, Jain was ranked in the top-200 of players entering college in the fall, and was ranked in the top-10 of players in North Carolina entering college in the fall.

"Shlok is such an earnest person and that came across quickly while getting to know him," Coach Eckstein said. "He and his family made some incredible sacrifices to move from India to give him an opportunity to play golf at the collegiate level. Shlok has improved rapidly since moving to the US, which has shown in his results against competition at the highest levels of junior golf. He will have an immediate impact on the course and his level of dedication will push our program forward."

Also joining the HPU family is Tully Super from Wayzata, Minnesota, as announced by Coach Eckstein Jan. 20. Super will be graduating from Holy Family Catholic School this spring and was announced to join. Thus far at Holy Family Catholic School, Super has earned Top-10 finishes in both Minnesota Junior Boys Championship and Minnesota Section Junior PGA Championship, shot 65-72 to win Herron Prep Tour Becker Championship, and is currently ranked 6th among the class of 2024 players in Minnesota.

"Tully was someone I immediately knew would be a good fit in our first phone conversation," Coach Eckstein said. "He has confidence in his ability as a player now and what he can develop into during his time at High Point. Mechanically, he has a very sound golf swing and putting stroke that has already produced tournament results while fighting in a short golf season in Minnesota. With another summer ahead, I think Tully will be ready to compete for us in Fall 2024."
