The Panthers came out hot with Jordan Miles responding to three JMU goals with two goals of her own. Taylor Suplee was phenomenal, holding down her defense with four close saves in the first quarter.Â
Emma Nowakowski wrapped around the crease to score her first goal of the season and High Point remained close, ending the first minutes down only two goals.
Mena Loescher netted quite the 100th career goal, whipping it off her back hip into the net to tie it up at four.Â
After a few responses from the Dukes, the Panthers went into the half trailing by three.
Miles secured a hat-trick in the third quarter to keep High Point on the board and within range. With just 30 seconds left in the third, Loescher found a cutting Genovese to tally another goal and cut the Dukes' lead to six entering the fourth.
Genovese contributed two more goals off assists from Rosselli and Loescher to open the fourth quarter, but James Madison would not let off the gas. The Dukes' pressure was too much, and they would end with the win.Â
Despite the loss, Taylor Suplee had an unbelievable performance with a season-high ten saves. Emma Genovese and Jordan Miles both contributed hat-tricks for the Panthers and Mena Loescher netted her 100th career goal and dished out three assists.Â
