High Point, N.C. – High Point University women's soccer battled it out against the Spartans of UNC-Greensboro Thursday night under the lights. They fell just short, losing the match 2-1.
The Panthers came out firing in the first half as Sam Gerhart netted a goal off the rebound of Skyler Prillaman's shot in the 17th minute. Gerhart now leads the team with four points on the season.
The Spartans quickly responded with two goals in the 36th and 43rd minute.
High Point's Morgan Hairston recorded a number of beautiful saves throughout the game.
