Skylar Prillaman's unassisted goal put the Panthers up 1-0. Marshall responded in the second half to tie the game a one goal apiece until
Bri Davis scored on a dish from
Sam Gerhart. A late goal in the 83
rd minute from The Herd tied the game and gave HPU little time for an offensive response.

The McGuiness Era
2022 marks the first season for head coach
Aaron McGuiness and his two assistants,
Kate Ward and
Tori Collar. McGuiness comes to HPU after spending five seasons as an assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University.

After defeating Campbell in the Big South Tournament Championship, the HPU women's soccer team advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in five years. The Panthers faced No. 1 Virginia in the first round.

Panthers Tabbed Second in Preseason Poll
HPU was picked second in the Big South Preseason Coaches' poll behind 2021 tournament runner-up, Campbell. The Panthers received three first-place votes in the poll behind the Camels' seven.
